about

I was once lost. A girl at the bottom of a well. I wallowed in my emptiness, for I had given all I had. I gave so freely, and wept when the pieces of me I gave out never returned. I would wail in the echo chamber of my head. Oh to be forgotten again. Oh to see that glimpse of light and have it fade again. It was only when I decided to climb, that I became free.

lyrics

Purple and black
She’s got bruises on her heartstrings
How she wished she could just go back
To once upon a time
But there’s no chance tonight

There’s no use
Living in the dark
And all her fated serenades will only take her so far

Little broken heart
She’s got songs that she can’t sing
Lest they tear her apart
With curses on her lips
She’s a smoking gun
Betrayal’s in her blood
It’s gonna eat her up

And there’s no use
Living in the dark
And all her fated serenades will only take her so far
And it’s no life
Living in a daydream
Oh the devil’s got her tongue
And she’s been seen

And how she loved recklessly
She burned with abandon
Until she believed that there was nothing left at all
There’s nothing left to see

And there’s no hope
Living in the dark
And all her fated serenades will take her
Far

about

Queera Nightly Oakland, California

Reflections of a dark belladonna, The Girl Who Fell spins a tale of secrets and desire.

How the wounded young woman will run forever, losing time and losing sleep, tangled up in vintage telephone lines.

I met her once, a shadow in the bar.

I doubt she remembers me at all.

I asked her her name, her story. She laughed.
“How much time do you have?”
